Fidaddle are two top musicians who take their audience on an interactive musical journey complete with juggling tricks and unicycling. From barnstorming bluegrass to sizzling gypsy serenades and with plenty of opportunities for joining in – Fidaddle shows are a joy for the whole family.
Oli is well know as fiddle player with ALAW and Jamie Smith’s Mabon. Luke Goss tours regularly with the poet and media sensation Ian MacMillan.
Fidaddle started doing concerts in mainstream and SEN schools around 20 yeas ago, initially working with Yehudi Menuhin’s Live Music Now scheme. Over time they have developed and honed a repertoire of songs and tunes that is engaging, inspiring and great fun.
Oliver Wilson-Dickson plays with award winning folk group ALAW, The Devil’s Violin and Jamie Smith’s Mabon. Described by R2 magazine as ‘an expressive and exceptional fiddler’ he also regularly collaborates with storyteller Daniel Morden, with whom he appeared for four consecutive years at the National Theatre and toured throughout the UK. Oliver has contributed to many recordings including cartoons for the BBC, albums for Warner International and a BAFTA award winning soundtrack. He has played for theatre productions including at the RSC. As a composer he has written music for stage productions and BBC Radio 4 drama and regularly creates production music for television. He also plays in the house band on the Welsh TV show Noson Lawen, where he gets plenty of opportunity to practice his Welsh.
Luke Carver Goss
Luke Carver Goss is a composer & performer. He writes and performs regularly with poet and broadcaster Ian McMillan. Their group The Ian McMillan Orchestra toured the length and breadth of the UK, and featured on The South Bank Show. Together, they co-curated Sage Gateshead’s first Words & Music Festival. The centre-piece of this was Homing In, a work for gigantic instrumental and vocal forces. Their most recent commissions together are 3 new carols for choirs: ‘A Single Snowflake’, ‘Looking for a Stable’ and ‘Here Comes the Knocker Up’ He has also worked with several touring bands, including The Angel Brothers, The Devil’s Violin Company, Tea Hodzic Trio and Szapora.
His music includes commissions for Black Dyke Brass Band, Tredegar Town Band, The Sage Gateshead, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, BBC Symphony Orchestra and London Sinfonietta. He was a composer for the Cultural Olympiad and his piece Pure Gold: a 4X4 Relay was broadcast on radio 2 and 3. .
